Hearts Scoreboard · Effective July 6, 2026

The short version

Hearts Scoreboard is a scorekeeping app, not a data business. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal information. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no third-party trackers. Your game data stays on your device and in your own iCloud account, where we cannot see it.

Data stored by the app

On your device

Your in-progress game, player names, preferred point limit, and app settings are saved locally on your device so the app can pick up where you left off. This data never leaves your device through anything we operate.

In your iCloud account

Finished game history (players, hand-by-hand scores, dates) is stored using Apple’s CloudKit in your private iCloud database so it syncs between your devices. Only you can access it — the developer has no ability to read, retrieve, or share this data. If iCloud is unavailable, history is stored only on your device. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Optional features

Game Center

If you are signed in to Game Center, the app reads your Game Center display name and player identifier on your device only, to label your own results in your stats. This information is not transmitted to us. Game Center is operated by Apple and governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. You can decline or sign out of Game Center at any time and the app will work normally.

Share links

When you choose to share a game recap, the recap data (player names and final scores) is encoded directly into the link itself. Anyone you send the link to can view that recap, so share links the way you would share the scores themselves. Opening a link in a web browser loads a page from our hosting provider (Vercel), which may record standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to operate the service, as described in Vercel’s Privacy Notice. We do not store recap data on any server — creating a link is entirely on-device, and the recap exists only in the link.

What we don’t do

  • No advertising or ad networks.
  • No analytics or usage tracking of any kind.
  • No selling, renting, or sharing of data with third parties.
  • No accounts, sign-ups, or profiles.
  • No access to your contacts, location, photos, camera, or microphone.

Children’s privacy

Hearts Scoreboard does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app contains no ads, no in-app purchases, and no social features beyond the share links you create yourself.

Your choices

  • Delete any saved game from the history screen at any time.
  • Turn off iCloud sync for the app in iOS Settings to keep history on-device only.
  • Delete the app to remove all locally stored data.
  • Manage or delete iCloud data through your Apple Account.

Changes & contact

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted in the App Store release notes.
